Asus speculated to launch ZenFone 4 series by May 2017

Asus is expected to launch its next-generation of ZenFone 4 series smartphones by May. Source from the handset supply chain in Taiwan have also said that the company is aiming to ship over 20 million smartphones this year.
Considering the numbers in 2016, Asus shipped about 17.5 million ZenFone smartphones, which wasn’t as good as what it did with with the ZenFone 2 series in 2015. Asus’ smartphone division didn’t make any profits in the first three quarters of 2016, but made a turnaround in the last quarter. However it wasn’t enough to cover the losses for the first three quarters.
The company recently showcased the ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone AR at CES this month and is planning to launch the two new smartphones in February. The ZenFone 3 Zoom is the company’s first dual-camera equipped smartphone which features a dual 12MP cameras with 25 mm and 59 mm lenses. The cameras offers a 2.3x optical zoom, and the smartphone is claimed to be good for taking portraits as well as capturing objects in a distance.
The ZenFone AR is also an interesting handset as it is the first smartphone from the company which supports Google’s AR based Tango features as well as the new Daydream VR features. Other than Asus, only Lenovo offers a Tango based smartphone while the Google Pixel/Pixel XL and Moto Z are the only smartphones that features Daydream.
