Samsung Galaxy Note 3, S4 Mini and Galaxy Grand 2 could get Android KitKat update soon

Samsung Galaxy Note 3, S4 Mini and Galaxy Grand 2 could get Android KitKat update soon
Samsung is reportedly in the process of rolling out Android KitKat update to some of its smartphones. These upgrades would be rolled out this month and in June, but not all of their recent big devices will get the update.

SamMobile claims that it has laid hands on a list of Samsung smartphones that will receive Android Kitkat and also those which won’t. According to the list, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note II (LTE), Galaxy S3 (LTE), Galaxy S4 Mini, S4 Mini (LTE), Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Mega 5.8, Galaxy Mega 6.3 will receive the KitKat upgrade.

Unfortunately, 3G versions of Galaxy S3 and S3 Mini won’t receive KitKat update. A major reason given by Samsung for not rolling out update is the hardware limitations of these devices.

The site further states, “Samsung is under pressure when it comes to its third-generation Galaxy S flagship, as Google has apparently warned it that the device was less than 18 months old when Android 4.4 was released.”

SamMobile further adds that some of the smartphones in the list could end up getting upgraded to v4.4.3 instead of v4.4.2. The list shows that 4.4.3 upgrade for Note II is now available. Note II LTE and S3 LTE are expected to get updates in May, while June could see the S4 Mini, S4 Mini (LTE), Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3, receiving the update.
