LG confirms G3 to have a 5.5-inch QHD AH-IPS LCD display


At last, LG has finally confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, G3, will sport a 5.5-inch QHD display.

In a press release, LG said that its next flagship smartphone will have a 5.5-inch Quad HD (QHD) AH-IPS LCD panel, that was certified as a QHD display after passing tests by Norway-based international testing and certification organization for electrical products, NEMKO.

“This is an ultra-slim panel with a mere 1.2mm thickness and has a 1.15mm bezel, which will be the narrowest available and 0.05mm less than panels introduced last year” says LG.
LG announced that the panel “will be unveiled with the forthcoming LG’s flagship smartphone to be launched in the first half of the year”.
 
 
The LG G3 will have a 5.5-inch QHD AH-IPS LCD panel with a 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 538ppi. LG adds that the display has 1.8 times higher resolution than a full-HD panel and a 100 percent RGB colour reproduction standard. Recently the LG G3's latest UI images were leaked online. It includes a new feature which checks the weather forecast and gives personalized recommendations based on your daily routine.
According to reports, the LG G3 will be launched in two variants featuring 16GB of inbuilt storage with 2GB of RAM, and a second with 32GB inbuilt storage with 3GB of RAM. It will have a 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS+) and will pack a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to be unveiled at an event on 27th May.The LG G3 will compete with devices like Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One 8.
